Thanks for taking the time to read my biography. Since everyone guesses wrong and is usually curious to know, I'll begin by telling you that I am Vietnamese-American. I'm proud to say my father served during the Vietnam War. While I'm not for war, I believe the ying always comes with the yang and good things oftentimes do come out of it. After all, I wouldn't be here otherwise. I truly appreciate the sacrifices made by soldiers and their families for the freedoms that we so easily can take for granted.
I am interested in many things both physical and mental, however I have to say my greatest interest is spiritual. My familial setting influenced a deeply rooted need to explore life's original questions....who are we, why are we here and what is our purpose, etcetera. As a result, I have studied theology, ancient civilizaitons, philosophy, metaphysics, and quantum physics in great detail. I am currently enrolled in a Doctoral program in Metaphysics. I am also a member of the Higher Balance Institute (HBI).
When I started studying martial
arts, I realized that it was the beginning of a lifelong journey as it
soon became
the bridge between all my endeavors. When I'm not training or teaching, I enjoy exploring my creative side
through acting and my feminine side through modeling. I hope to co-star in an action packed film one day. So, Jet Li if you're reading this stop whatever you're doing and contact me right away!
Teaching martial arts especially to children has been very fulfilling. My family and I share the love of martial arts and spend a lot of time training together and pushing each other to take it to the next level. I also enjoy the fact that martial arts helps me to connect physically to my spiritual side. I have always been hi-energy. Martial arts has been great for this overload of passion. It's truly awesome to give back to the community by teaching children and adults, but at the same time get your daily workout in and progress foward in your training.
I starting competing about 4 years ago, and have since earned over 40 first place finishes in forms, fighting, weapons and breaking. Aside from daydreaming about the right film opportunity, I am currently working on mastering the bo staff and kama weapons, a creative empty-hand form that is for competition purposes and also learning to use Chinese fighting fans.
My favorite hobby is playing pool and you can oftentimes find me playing in league or competing in tournaments.
I also enjoy reading, playing poker, meditation, travel, music, dancing, good food, great conversation and fun times with family and friends.
